Journeyman Heavy-Duty Mechanic Job

(Full Time)

Summary of the Role

New Age Motors is now open and we require a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join
our team. We are currently offering full time employment for the right candidate in
a clean, organized, new, very well kept shop in the Leduc business park.

Ideal candidate should posses:

  • Red seal certificate
  • Strong experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Diesel engine experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a repair shop atmosphere
  • Ability to work well with other mechanics
  • Equipment experience
  • CVIP License would be a great asset
  • Knowledge in CVIPs, Trailers, Air & Electric Brakes
  • Ability to mentor apprentices

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Performing quality repairs and preventative maintenance services on
    medium/Heavy duty trucks and various types of trailers.
  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and
    in a safe and responsible manner
  • Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
  • Perform fault diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical
    failures and concerns
  • Ensure service documentation is completed as per instructions
  • Complete inspections on equipment and co-ordinate with staff on
    repairs
  • Training and/or assisting other technicians or apprentices with
    their work
  • Assist in shop cleanup and housekeeping
  • Perform CVIP and Maintenance Inspections
  • General customer service

Job Details and Compensation:

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Experience: heavy duty mechanic: 5 years (required)
 
Licence/Certification:
  • HET Journeyman License (required)
Pay: $42.00-$48.00 per hour
Additional pay: Overtime pay
 

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
